Triple Hollowed-Out Basalt Fountain Kit
Create a distinctive outdoor water feature with three genuine natural basalt columns. Each column features a hollowed top that collects water around the bubbling plume before gently overflowing down the rugged stone sides.
Choose from three height configurations. Every kit includes a matched Achelous AquaBox® reservoir, Mag-Drive pump, flow-control plumbing, and 200 pounds of polished pebbles.

What Is Not Included?
Excavation, foundation preparation, electrical installation, water connections, lifting equipment, and surrounding landscaping are not included. Lighting, automatic water fill, and other optional accessories are sold separately.

Installation Overview
These are the main installation stages. Follow the included manual for complete assembly and safety instructions.

Prepare the Site
Choose a location with access to water and GFCI-protected electrical service. Check underground utilities, excavate for the basin, and prepare a compacted, level foundation.

Install the Reservoir
Set the AquaBox level and properly supported. Install the grates, supports, pump, screen, and plumbing according to the manual. Preserve access to the pump.

Position the Columns
Carefully position the basalt columns over the planned plumbing openings. Route tubing through each stone and verify stable, properly supported placement.

Fill, Adjust & Finish
Fill the reservoir, start the pump, and adjust the individual water plumes. Check splash patterns before adding the included polished pebbles and finishing the surrounding landscape.
Optional Fountain Enhancements
- Automatic Water Fill Kit — ABDAUTO: Helps replace water lost through evaporation and splash. View Auto Fill Kit . A pressure regulator is required when incoming pressure exceeds 30 PSI.
- Exterior Lighting — PB2897: IllumiGlow® Fountain & Pond 3 Light Kit illuminates the fountain from outside.
- Fountain Plume Lighting — PB2903: Optional lighting for the water plumes. Confirm the required fountain preparation before ordering.
- Splash Apron: Helps return overspray to the reservoir. Included with the Extra Tall kit and optional for the other configurations.
- Fountain Water Treatments: Use appropriate fountain maintenance products to help control organic buildup.
Care & Seasonal Maintenance
- Water level: Refill as needed. Never allow the pump to operate without adequate water.
- Pump care: Clean the pre-filter and inspect the pump regularly according to its manual.
- Stone and basin: Remove debris and organic buildup to maintain water flow and appearance.
- Winterization: In prolonged freezing conditions, remove the pump and store it submerged in water in a frost-free location. Do not drain the installed basin for winter.

If you love the appearance of basalt but prefer something easier to handle, consider our Triple Handcrafted Basalt Fountain Kit. Made from glass fiber reinforced concrete (GFRC) molded from real basalt formations, it offers natural-stone character at a fraction of the weight. Frequently Asked Questions
Is this a complete fountain kit?
Yes. Each kit includes three natural basalt columns, an Achelous AquaBox® basin, a matched Mag-Drive pump, flow-control plumbing, tubing, fittings, and 200 pounds of polished pebbles. Site preparation, electrical installation, and surrounding landscaping are not included.
How heavy are the basalt columns?
Approximate individual weights range from 108 pounds for an 18-inch column to 288 pounds for a 48-inch column. Actual weights vary with natural stone cuts. Plan for appropriate lifting equipment and installation assistance.
Can I adjust the water flow on each column?
Yes. The included three-way flow-control assembly allows you to adjust the water delivered to each column. This helps balance plume height and minimize excessive splash.
Is a splash apron included?
The Extra Tall ABBC475 kit includes an 8' x 8' 30-mil splash-apron liner. A splash apron is optional for the Short ABBC400 and Tall ABBC425 kits.
Can the basalt fountains stay outside during winter?
The basalt columns may remain outdoors. In climates with prolonged freezing, we recommend removing the pump and storing it submerged in water in a frost-free location.
The installation manual instructs owners to leave water in the installed basin during winter. Follow the complete winterization instructions.
What warranties apply to the fountain kit?
The Achelous AquaBox® basin carries a lifetime limited warranty for qualifying manufacturing defects. The Mag-Drive pump has a five-year limited warranty, excluding the impeller.
The stone fountain has limited workmanship coverage for a minimum one-year period. All warranties are subject to the applicable terms and exclusions. These are component-specific warranties, not a lifetime warranty on the entire kit.
