Before You Order
The 14", 22", 30", and 40" size selections refer to the corresponding Cascade Falls Box models, not the actual dimensions of the replacement mat. Each selection includes one pre-cut black Matala mat only. The waterfall box and other system components are not included.
Installation & Maintenance
The black Matala diffuser mat fits horizontally inside the Elite Cascade Falls Box, helping distribute incoming water before it reaches the waterfall spillway. Position the correctly sized mat in the middle of the box, following our installation instructions.
Periodically inspect the mat for accumulated debris or restricted flow. Our pond-less waterfall maintenance guide recommends cleaning waterfall-box filter media at least once per year. When possible, rinse using water collected from the water feature rather than chlorinated tap water to help preserve beneficial bacteria.
Replace the mat when it becomes damaged, excessively worn, or no longer maintains its intended position inside the Cascade Falls Box.

Will this Matala fit an Elite Waterfall Box?
No. These black diffuser mats are specifically sized for our Elite Cascade Falls Boxes. Our Elite Waterfall Boxes use different replacement filter media. If you have an Elite Waterfall Box, see our Replacement Matala for Elite Waterfall Boxes instead.
How often should the Matala mat be cleaned?
Inspect the mat periodically and clean it when debris begins accumulating. Our pond-less maintenance guide recommends cleaning the media at least annually, during cold-water maintenance when temperatures are below 50°F. Avoid unnecessarily harsh cleaning that may remove beneficial bacteria.
