A cutting-edge filter media, Matala works as both mechanical and biological filtration. The solid Matala fibers resist sludge buildup, are easy to clean, and provide a large surface area to maximize filtration efficiency. These mats are replacement components designed specifically for Elite Skimmers.

About Our Complete Pond Eco System

Biological Waterfall Boxes

Filter harmful waste and toxins from the water to keep your pond clean and clear. These boxes provide excellent surface area for beneficial bacterial growth while creating an attractive waterfall. Easy to camouflage, especially when using the Landscape Lid for Elite Series boxes (not available for DIY boxes).

Black PVC Flex Hose

Carries water from the skimmer box to the biological waterfall box. Flex PVC is much easier to install than rigid PVC.

Rocks and Gravel

Not included, but required for installation. Rocks and gravel provide additional surface area for beneficial bacteria, protect the liner from UV damage and animals, and create a natural, finished appearance.

Protective Underliner

A non-woven underliner fabric that cushions and protects the pond liner while allowing gases to escape from the soil. Installs faster than newspaper and covers vertical walls more effectively than sand.

Fish-Friendly Rubber Liner

Heavy-duty 45-mil EPDM liner that is extremely flexible and conforms easily to pond curves and slopes.

High-Efficiency Pump

Pump sits in a protected rear chamber to reduce clogging. Blue Thumb pumps are designed for continuous operation while using less electricity.

Mechanical Skimmer Box

Removes floating debris before it sinks, protects the pump, and conceals plumbing for a cleaner pond appearance.
