Build a wider, natural-looking pond-less waterfall with our Large 30" Elite Cascade Falls Box. Designed for professional waterfall and stream installations, this spillway box helps distribute incoming water evenly across a 30-inch waterfall opening while blending into the surrounding landscape.
The included black Matala diffuser mat encourages consistent water distribution, while the landscape lid allows the box to be concealed behind stone, gravel, mulch, or suitable plantings. A detachable weir and dual inlet connections provide flexibility when planning and installing your waterfall.

This listing is for the Large 30" Elite Cascade Falls Box, not a complete pond-less waterfall kit.
The box includes its diffuser mat, landscape lid, detachable weir, factory-installed inlet fittings, and installation hardware. A functioning pond-less waterfall system also requires a properly sized pump, underground water reservoir, liner, plumbing, and other installation materials.

Installation Planning
Our Elite Cascade Falls Boxes are designed to work with a properly planned pond-less waterfall system. The waterfall box is positioned at the upper end of the feature, while a separate underground reservoir collects and recirculates the water.

Plan the Waterfall System
Determine the waterfall location, stream layout, reservoir capacity, and pump requirements. Account for elevation change and plumbing distance when selecting a pump.
We recommend planning your Pump Canyon and underground reservoir together with the waterfall design.

Position the Cascade Box
Prepare and compact the installation area to help prevent settling. Position the Cascade Box level from side to side, with the slight forward tilt described in our installation manual so water moves toward the spillway.
Allow adequate room for the box, connected plumbing, surrounding stonework, and future access.

Connect Plumbing and Secure the Liner
The 30" Elite Cascade Box has two factory-installed 3" spinweld fittings. Our installation guide identifies compatibility with either 2" or 3" flexible PVC pipe when the appropriate fittings are used.
Connect the pump supply line, close the unused inlet when applicable, and attach the waterfall liner to the front of the box using the detachable weir and installation hardware.

Complete the Waterfall and Test Flow
Position the black Matala diffuser mat inside the box and finish the surrounding rockwork. The landscape lid helps conceal the upper portion of the box within the finished installation.
Fill the reservoir, start the pump, and inspect the complete water path for leaks, splash loss, and proper return flow before completing final landscaping.
Care and Maintenance
- Keep the spillway clear. Periodically remove leaves, sediment, and other debris that could restrict water movement.
- Inspect the diffuser mat. Our pond-less maintenance guide recommends cleaning waterfall-box media at least annually, following its seasonal water-temperature guidance.
- Monitor reservoir water levels. Replace water lost to evaporation or splashing to help prevent the pump from running without sufficient water.
- Check plumbing and connections. Inspect the waterfall system periodically for leaks, damage, or changes in water flow.
- Prepare for freezing temperatures. Follow our pond-less waterfall winterization instructions. If shutting the system down, the guide explains pump removal, diffuser cleaning, and reservoir water-level precautions.

Is this a complete pond-less waterfall kit?
No. This product is the 30" Elite Cascade Falls Box and its listed components. A complete pond-less waterfall also requires a compatible pump, underground reservoir, liner, plumbing, and installation materials. If you prefer a coordinated system, consider our Elite Large 30" Cascading Falls Kit.
Can I use 2" or 3" flexible PVC pipe with this box?
Yes. The 30" Elite Cascade Box has two 3" spinweld connections, and our official installation guide states that this model can accept either 2" or 3" flexible PVC pipe when connected using appropriate fittings. Your plumbing size should be selected for the pump and overall waterfall design.
Can both inlet connections be used?
Yes. Our installation instructions explain that one connection can receive the supply line while the unused connection is plugged. The second connection may also be used for an additional pump line when the system is designed for that configuration.
Can multiple Cascade Falls Boxes be installed together?
Yes. Elite Cascade Falls Boxes may be positioned side by side to create a wider waterfall. Each box must be properly supported, connected, and supplied with sufficient water flow for the desired design.
Does this replace a biological waterfall filter?
The Elite Cascade Falls Box is designed primarily for pond-less waterfall applications, where a large biological waterfall filter is not required. The included Matala mat helps distribute incoming water and captures some debris, but the box should not automatically be treated as a substitute for the filtration requirements of a fish pond.
How do I know whether my pump is the right size?
The maximum published pump flow for this Cascade Box is 7,500 GPH. Actual flow reaching the spillway will depend on the pump's performance at your installation height, plumbing diameter, total pipe length, and fittings. Can I replace the black Matala diffuser mat?

What warranty covers the Large 30" Elite Cascade Falls Box?
Our Blue Thumb branded engineered-plastics warranty provides lifetime coverage against manufacturing defects for the original purchaser, subject to the published terms. Proper installation is required, and modifications after purchase void the warranty. Labor and freight are not covered. Review the official warranty document for complete details.
