Mini 10" DIY Cascade Box
Bring the relaxing sound of moving water to a smaller landscape with our Mini 10" DIY Cascade Box. Designed for compact pond-less waterfalls, this molded waterfall box creates a controlled water spillway at the top of a rock-lined stream.
Its compact design fits naturally into garden beds, landscape corners, and smaller backyard waterfall projects. The integrated landscape lid helps conceal the waterfall box beneath decorative stone or plantings, allowing the finished installation to blend into its surroundings.
Important: This product is the individual waterfall box and its supplied fittings, not a complete pond-less waterfall kit. The pump, underground reservoir, liner, and other system components are purchased separately.

Choosing the Right Pump
The Mini Cascade Box is rated for a maximum pump flow of 1,800 gallons per hour. This is the box's maximum flow rating, not a guarantee of water delivery from a particular pump.
Actual flow at the spillway depends on the selected pump, vertical lift, plumbing diameter, hose length, and system resistance. Choose a pump that delivers your desired waterfall flow at the installation's actual operating head without exceeding the box rating.

How a Pond-Less Waterfall System Works
A pond-less waterfall creates the appearance and sound of a natural stream without an exposed pond at its base. Water is stored in a concealed underground reservoir, pumped to the waterfall box, and returned through the streambed.
The Mini Cascade Box serves as the water-delivery point at the top of the waterfall. Water enters through the connected plumbing, passes through the box, and flows over its 10-inch spillway. After traveling down the rock-lined stream, water returns to the underground reservoir for recirculation.
A compatible Canyon Matrix can provide concealed reservoir storage and pump access for an appropriately designed small waterfall system.
Planning Your Mini Cascade Box Installation
Installing the waterfall box requires a stable location, properly sized plumbing, and a correctly designed water-return system. The complete installation also involves excavation, liner placement, and arranging rockwork to guide water back into the reservoir.
Plan the Waterfall Location
Determine where the waterfall should begin, how the stream will flow, and where water will return to the concealed reservoir. Confirm the complete system footprint and locate underground utilities before excavation.
Prepare a Firm, Level Base
Position the Cascade Box at the top of the stream on compacted, stable ground. Install the liner and position the box within the lined waterfall area according to the official installation instructions.
Connect the Water Supply
Choose the appropriate 1-inch inlet connection, install the required adapter and plug configuration, and connect the supply plumbing. Follow the official instructions for fittings, connection materials, and assembly.
Complete the Waterfall and Test the Flow
Arrange rockwork around the spillway and along the stream. Fill the reservoir, start the pump, and check water flow, box leveling, and stream edges. Make adjustments before concealing the system with landscaping.
Installation Tip
Keep the Cascade Box positioned on a secure base so settling does not change the direction of the waterfall. The unit should be adjusted to produce an even spill over the waterfall opening.

While a pond-less waterfall does not require maintaining an open fish pond, the recirculating system still needs routine attention. Proper maintenance helps protect the pump and keeps water traveling through the intended stream channel.
- Check water levels: Maintain enough water in the reservoir for safe pump operation. Evaporation and splashing can gradually lower the water level.
- Remove debris: Clear leaves and other materials that could obstruct the Cascade Box or redirect water outside the stream.
- Inspect plumbing: Check the pump, hose, and fittings periodically for restrictions, leaks, or damage.
- Check waterfall alignment: Make sure settling or shifting rockwork has not changed the direction of the water.
- Prepare for freezing temperatures: Ice can redirect water outside the lined stream. Follow the appropriate winterization procedures for your pump and complete waterfall system.
