The Aquascape Signature Series 200 Pond Skimmer captures leaves, twigs and other floating debris before they settle on the pond bottom. Designed for ponds up to 200 square feet, this compact mechanical skimmer features a 6-inch floating weir, removable debris net and a protected chamber for a compatible submersible pond pump.
The floating weir draws surface water into the skimmer, where the removable net collects leaves, seeds and other debris. This helps reduce the organic material that accumulates on the pond floor.
The internal chamber provides a protected location for a compatible submersible pump. The included lid covers the equipment while allowing access for routine maintenance.
UV-protected, high-density polyethylene construction and a rounded housing design provide strength for an in-ground installation, including climates that experience freezing and thawing.
The Signature Series 200 is rated for pond surfaces up to 200 square feet and pump flow rates up to 3,000 GPH. These are separate limits. Your pump must be compatible with the skimmer and sized for the actual operating requirements of your complete pond system.
This product is a mechanical skimmer assembly, not a complete pond filtration system. A pump, discharge plumbing, pond liner and biological waterfall filtration must be selected separately.
If you want a higher maximum flow rating, an included filter mat and a natural-looking landscape lid, compare our DIY Pond Skimmer 180 (PB1311) below.
Important: The standard skimmer does not include a filter mat, faux-rock landscape lid or pump. The optional brush cartridge provides an additional mechanical filtration stage when installed.
Both skimmers collect floating debris and provide a concealed location for a compatible pond pump. However, they differ in maximum pump flow, included filtration, housing dimensions and landscape appearance.

Choose the Aquascape Signature Series 200 when you want a compact skimmer with a 200-square-foot pond-area rating, a removable debris net, and the option to add Aquascape's filter brush cartridge or overflow kit.
Choose our DIY Pond Skimmer 180 when your pond fits its 180-square-foot rating and you need its higher 4,500 GPH maximum flow capacity, included two-stage mechanical filtration, or a faux-rock lid in sandstone or gray.
Remember that maximum flow ratings are skimmer limits, not actual pump output. We recommend selecting the skimmer, pump and plumbing as a coordinated system.
Compare the Blue Thumb DIY Pond Skimmer 180 (PB1311)Proper skimmer placement, elevation and liner attachment are essential for reliable operation. Review the official Aquascape installation manual before beginning work.
Position the skimmer across from the waterfall when practical. This encourages water circulation across the pond. If there is no waterfall, consider prevailing winds and surface debris movement when selecting the location.
Prepare a compacted, level base and allow room around the housing for installation and plumbing. Aquascape specifies a finished waterline approximately 3/4 inch below the top of the skimmer opening.
Follow the manufacturer's sequence for positioning the liner, cutting the opening, applying fish-safe silicone and securing the faceplate. Avoid overtightening the mounting screws.
Install the compatible pump and plumbing, position the debris net and fill the pond. Check the water level, skimmer intake, plumbing connections and pump operation before completing the surrounding landscape.
Installation reminder: Keep the skimmer lid accessible for cleaning. Do not allow rocks or landscaping to obstruct the weir opening. Disconnect pump power before servicing equipment.
The removable net catches leaves, twigs and floating debris before they reach the pump. Check and empty it regularly, especially during fall leaf drop, spring cleanup and after storms.
A heavily loaded debris net can restrict water entering the pump chamber. Watch for reduced waterfall flow or a lower-than-normal water level inside the skimmer. Clean the net and inspect the pump when restrictions occur.
Aquascape's optional Filter Brush Cartridge (#99772) adds another mechanical filtration stage after the debris net. Remove and rinse the cartridge as needed when debris buildup begins restricting flow.
Although the skimmer housing is designed for in-ground freeze-thaw conditions, pumps and connected plumbing require their own seasonal protection. Follow the applicable pump and plumbing winterization instructions, and properly drain equipment when required.
The Signature Series 200 provides mechanical skimming at the pond edge. A complete recirculating pond system also needs an appropriately sized pump, connected plumbing and suitable biological filtration.
Aquascape identifies compatible EcoWave and AquaSurge pumps for this skimmer family. Confirm the specific pump's physical dimensions, operating flow and plumbing requirements before ordering.
For a separate biological waterfall filter, explore the Aquascape Signature Series 1000 BioFalls Filter .

Aquascape provides a limited lifetime warranty against manufacturing defects on the Signature Series 200 skimmer, subject to proper installation, maintenance and the manufacturer's conditions.
The manufacturer separately specifies a one-year warranty for plastic internal skimmer components. Filter media and other consumable filtration materials are not covered.
Proof of purchase is required. See the official installation manual for complete coverage, exclusions and claim requirements.
Our Sales/Tech Team can help you compare the Aquascape Signature Series 200 with our DIY Pond Skimmer 180, review your pond size and confirm pump and plumbing requirements.
No. This is a standalone mechanical skimmer. A compatible submersible pond pump and its plumbing must be purchased separately. Aquascape recommends compatible EcoWave and AquaSurge pumps. Maximum skimmer flow is 3,000 GPH.
The Aquascape 200 handles pond surfaces up to 200 square feet with a maximum pump flow of 3,000 GPH. Our DIY Pond Skimmer 180 handles up to 180 square feet but supports higher maximum flow of 4,500 GPH. The DIY 180 also includes a filter mat and your choice of sandstone or gray faux-rock lid. The Aquascape uses a standard protective lid and offers an optional filter brush cartridge.
No. The Signature Series 200 includes a removable leaf and debris net, but no standard filter mat. An optional Aquascape Filter Brush Cartridge (#99772) can be purchased separately for additional mechanical filtration.
No. Aquascape offers a separate Signature Series 200 Overflow Kit (#88036). It allows excess water to be directed away from the pond when installed with the appropriate drainage plumbing.
Yes, provided the existing pond can accommodate the skimmer housing, liner connection and plumbing. Retrofitting typically requires excavation and modification of the existing pond liner. Follow the manufacturer's installation instructions for preparing an existing pond.
Aquascape identifies EcoWave and AquaSurge pumps as recommended pump families. The selected model must physically fit the skimmer and operate within its 3,000 GPH maximum flow rating. Pump sizing also depends on total head height, plumbing diameter and the complete pond filtration system.
The UV-protected HDPE housing is designed for in-ground installations that experience freezing and thawing. However, pumps, plumbing and other connected equipment require appropriate winter preparation. Follow the manufacturers' instructions for draining and protecting equipment.
Aquascape provides limited lifetime coverage against manufacturing defects for the skimmer, subject to the published conditions. Plastic internal skimmer parts have separate one-year coverage. Filter media and consumable materials are excluded. Proof of purchase is required, and the official manufacturer warranty governs all claims.
