30 PSI Pressure Regulator Kit

Protect your automatic water fill system from excessive incoming water pressure with our 30 PSI Pressure Regulator Kit. Installed in the incoming water supply line, this regulator reduces water pressure to the operating level required by Blue Thumb auto fill valves.

The 30 PSI Regulator can be used with both Blue Thumb autofill options: the Hudson Automatic Water Fill Kit and the Fountain Basin Auto Fill Kit.

Before You Order: This product regulates incoming water pressure. It does not automatically fill a water feature by itself. An appropriate Blue Thumb autofill kit must be purchased separately if you do not already have one. For Formal Falls installations, contact our Sales/Tech Team to confirm the correct autofill kit.

What's Included in the Regulator Kit?

Our 30 PSI Regulator Kit includes the pressure regulating valve and connection hardware identified in the official installation guide.

  • 30 PSI water pressure regulator valve
  • Two 1/2-inch male threaded barb fittings
  • Two irrigation line hose clamps
  • Direct-to-basin adapter
  • PTFE thread seal tape

Not Included: Automatic fill valve, Hudson autofill kit, Fountain Basin autofill kit, incoming water line, garden hose, fountain basin, or pond equipment.

Filtration Requirement: When an incoming-water filter is necessary, use a 100-mesh or finer filter capable of flowing up to 18 GPM with no more than 5 PSI internal friction loss, as specified in our installation guide.

Installing the 30 PSI Regulator

Install the pressure regulator in the incoming water supply line before the automatic fill valve. Follow our official installation guide and use the appropriate fittings for your water supply.

Turn Off the Water Supply

Shut off the incoming water before connecting or modifying the supply line.

Confirm the Flow Direction

Position the regulator so the arrow on the valve body points toward the automatic fill valve.

Connect and Seal the Fittings

Use the appropriate included fittings and clamps. Apply PTFE thread seal tape to threaded connections as instructed. Do not substitute another thread sealant.

Restore Water and Check for Leaks

Slowly restore the water supply. Inspect the connections for leaks and confirm that the automatic fill valve fills and shuts off correctly.

Important Operating and Safety Information

  • Do not disassemble the regulator. An internal compressed spring may cause injury.
  • Never exceed the maximum incoming pressure of 125 PSI.
  • Use the regulator with clean water.
  • Always follow the direction-of-flow arrow on the regulator body.
  • Use PTFE tape for threaded sealing.
  • Inspect supply connections for leaks and verify proper autofill shutoff after installation.

If you're unsure of your incoming water pressure, measure it before installation. Permanent supply connections must follow applicable plumbing and backflow-prevention requirements.
