How It Works
Water is stored underground in a lined reservoir filled with gravel and supported by a Canyon Matrix. A pump inside the matrix pushes water through a flex hose to the Cascade Box at the top of the stream. The box filters and releases water over the spillway, creating a waterfall that flows back down into the hidden basin where it recirculates.
Installation Steps
- Step 1: Plan your waterfall layout, mark the area, and excavate to the needed depth.
- Step 2: Install underliner, then liner. Place the Canyon Matrix in the lined basin and backfill dirt around the edges.
- Step 3: Extend the liner up the slope and position the Cascade Box on a leveled area.
- Step 4: Install the pump in the Canyon Matrix and connect plumbing to the Cascade Box.
- Step 5: Add stone and gravel to cover the basin and stream. Build the waterfall with larger rocks, fill with water, and start the pump.
Pond-Less Waterfall Benefits
Pond-less waterfalls are ideal for landscapes where planting is difficult or where soil erosion is a problem. Using a hidden reservoir eliminates the need for a pond while giving the visual and auditory appeal of running water.
