Important coverage distinction: Pond Cleaner is dosed by pond surface acreage. Muck Buster shoreline applications are dosed by the square footage being treated. A 1/2-acre pond does not automatically require treating every square foot of its bottom with Muck Buster.

Measure Your Pond

Estimate the pond's surface area before calculating dosage. For a rectangular pond, multiply length by width in feet and divide by 43,560 to estimate acres. Measure the specific shoreline area separately for targeted muck treatment.

Apply Pond Cleaner™ Lake

Distribute the water-soluble packets evenly throughout the pond from shore or boat. For a 1/2-acre pond, the published routine rate is four packets per month, typically divided into applications approximately two weeks apart. Apply when water is above 50°F.

Treat Muck-Prone Areas

Distribute Muck Buster® tablets across the shoreline, beach, dock, or bottom areas needing treatment. For example, a 1,000-square-foot treatment area uses eight tablets per month at the published routine rate.

Add Blue Lake Dye

Carefully pour the liquid dye into several locations around the pond edge, following the product label's dosage directions. Avoid splashing onto clothing, hands, rocks, and dock surfaces because the dye can stain.

Maintain Your Treatment Schedule
