The Small Pondless® Waterfall Kit is designed for a shorter waterfall or stream, approximately 6 feet long, with a 22-inch-wide Waterfall Spillway at the upper end of the feature.
The included spillway distributes water across the waterfall entrance. Decorative stonework determines how that water cascades through the finished landscape.
This kit is well suited to garden beds, sloped landscape areas, outdoor seating spaces, and residential waterfall projects where a traditional pond is not desired.

Allow additional room for the underground reservoir, waterfall elevation, boulders, gravel, plumbing, and construction access. The final excavation must accommodate the three AquaBlox® modules and Pondless® Waterfall Vault.
Decorative rocks, gravel, plants, landscape finishing materials, excavation tools, and electrical installation are not included.

A decorative lighting package is not included in this model. Lighting can be planned separately if you want to illuminate the waterfall after dark.

Maximum pump flow ratings are measured under manufacturer test conditions. Higher maximum GPH does not automatically mean greater installed waterfall flow. Vertical lift, plumbing resistance, and flow settings affect actual performance.
Planning and Installing Your Pondless® Waterfall
Building a professional-looking waterfall requires more than placing a pump and adding decorative stone. Site grading, excavation, reservoir construction, liner placement, plumbing, and waterfall shaping are all important.
Use these stages as a general overview. Follow the current Aquascape component instructions for exact excavation, assembly, connections, and operation.
Plan the Waterfall
Choose the location and mark the intended 6-foot stream. Plan the elevation change, stone placement, underground reservoir, and electrical access. Locate buried utilities before digging.
Excavate the Reservoir
Lay out the three AquaBlox® modules and Pondless® Waterfall Vault. Excavate and prepare the basin according to the manufacturer's assembly and depth requirements.
Install Liner and Storage
Prepare the excavation, install protective underlayment and EPDM liner, and assemble the underground storage system. Keep the pump vault accessible for future maintenance.
Install Pump and Plumbing
Position the AquaSurge® pump inside the vault. Install the check valve assembly and connect the flexible PVC pipe to the Waterfall Spillway using the specified fittings.
Build the Stone Waterfall
Arrange decorative boulders and gravel to form the stream. Position the 22-inch spillway and use waterfall foam where directed to channel water over the intended rockwork.
Fill, Test, and Configure
Fill the reservoir, verify the water level, and test waterfall circulation. Configure the Smart Control Receiver and automatic dosing equipment according to their instructions. Check for leaks and splash loss.
Installation and Electrical Safety
Connect the pump only to a properly grounded, outdoor-rated, GFCI-protected electrical outlet. Do not use an extension cord with the AquaSurge® pump.
Keep the pump fully submerged during operation. Do not allow the reservoir water level to fall below the pump's operating requirements.
Do not trim away excess liner until the system has been filled and tested. Keep liner edges high enough to help contain water within the waterfall.
Smart Pump Control and Routine Maintenance
Adjusting Your Waterfall Flow
The AquaSurge® 2000-4000 pump is supplied with a Smart Control Receiver. The receiver is an essential part of the pump system, not an optional accessory.
When configured with the Aquascape Smart Control App, you can adjust flow and create operating schedules using a compatible smartphone or tablet.
This is particularly useful when you want to vary the appearance and sound of your waterfall without manually adjusting plumbing.
Automatic Water Treatment
The included automatic dosing equipment dispenses compatible water treatment according to its settings. It is a separate system from the waterfall pump's Smart Control Receiver.
Check the treatment supply periodically and refill it with the appropriate Aquascape treatment as required.
Routine Care
- Monitor the reservoir water level and replace water lost to evaporation and splashing.
- Remove leaves and other debris from the waterfall and stream.
- Inspect and clean the pump according to its instructions.
- Check that water remains inside the intended stream and liner.
- Monitor the automatic dosing system and replenish compatible treatment.
- Inspect the reservoir, pump, and plumbing when preparing the feature for seasonal changes.
Cold-Weather Care
Freezing weather requires additional attention. Ice formation can redirect water outside the liner or reservoir, leading to water loss and possible equipment damage.
If shutting down for winter, follow Aquascape's pump and plumbing winterization instructions. Protect equipment from freezing and drain applicable plumbing.
